Junior Program Overview

The staples of the junior programs at the Cundari School of Golf will always remain fun and participation. We guarantee that your child, regardless of their age and ability, will be stimulated and feel engaged as they explore their physical capabilities.

Recently the Canadian PGA and the Royal Canadian Golf Association developed an industry changing document called the Long Term Player Development Guide (LTPD). The aim of LTPD is to develop a long-range and systematic approach to growing golf in Canada. This includes not only the proliferation of recreational golfers but also the identification, coaching and support of elite amateurs and professionals. This model is based on the physical, mental, emotional and cognitive development of children as they move through the different stages of maturation.

The LTPD gives coaches, athletes and parents a structure to work with. The acquisition of physical literacy – being competent in fundamental motor and sport specific skills is the building block of this exciting new model.

The strength of this new path is that there is now clear direction if our juniors decide they want to begin to compete in golf. Theirs now support for our juniors whether they want to remain recreational golfers or start to participate in tournaments.

As a result of this newly “made in Canada” research the age categories and programming at the School have changed to reflect this new model. Click here to get more information on this year’s junior programs.
